What counts as standard installation

Installation prices assume all of the following:

  • Plaster, drywall or partition walls that take standard picture hooks or screws
  • Hanging height reachable from a standard ladder
  • Ground floor or lift access, with parking or loading close by
  • Installation during office hours, Monday to Friday
  • Pieces that can be safely handled by one or two installers

Anything outside this is quoted separately after we have seen photos of the space, or visited if needed. This includes concrete, brick, tiled, glazed or stone walls, working at height or on scaffolding, very heavy or oversized pieces, hanging rail or cable systems, multi-piece arrangements laid out to a design, after-hours or weekend work, and sites with restricted access or building permits.

Common installation hurdles

These are the situations we meet most often. They are not a problem, but they take extra people, materials or time, so we quote for them once we know the details.

Works too big for the lift

Large framed pieces often will not fit in a residential or office lift. We then carry them up the stairs, which can mean extra installers and a lot more time, especially for higher floors.

Additional charge based on the size of the piece and the number of floors.

Heavy works on thin walls

Partition and drywall walls may not safely hold a very large or heavy frame on hooks alone. We may need to add additional timber support into the wall and frame as part of the installation. This introduces more time and material and may also require a site visit to assess.

Additional charge for materials and time, quoted after we check the wall.

Concrete, tiled or stone walls

Hard surfaces need specialist drilling and fixings, and tiles or stone need extra care so they do not crack.

Additional charge, depending on the wall and the number of pieces.

High walls and stairwells

Double-height walls, stairwells and spaces above a standard ladder need taller access equipment and more set-up time.

Additional charge, quoted from photos of the space.

Sending us photos of the wall, the artwork and the route from the entrance helps us spot these early, so there are no surprises on the day.

Rates as currently set in our pricing system. Need a quote for something non-standard? Message us on WhatsApp with photos of the artwork and the wall.
